TETRA
80™
The Pellet with Promise.
Calcium Chloride Product
Data Sheet
General
Description
TETRA 80™
is a white high purity calcium chloride pellet with 77%-82% CaCl2 by weight,
easily soluble in water.
TETRA 80™
has the following features:
- Very low
impurities, good source of soluble calcium ions
- Free flowing pellet
- Non-dusting
- Fast dissolving
- Low crystallization
point (approx. -50°F for a 30% solution)
Applications
TETRA 80™
is suitable for ready mix concrete acceleration; dust stabilization on
unpaved roads; tire weighting; swimming pool water treatment; highway
deicing; oilfield drilling and cementing; desiccant and dehumidification;
brine refrigeration; and other applications requiring ASTM D98 and AASHTO Ml
44 Standards.

Safety and Handling
TETRA 80™,
77%-82% calcium chloride, is not subject to DOT regulations. However, it is
a hygroscopic salt exhibiting a strong exothermic heat of dissolution.
Always use cool water (less than 80°F or 27°C) when dissolving or diluting
calcium chloride. Protective clothing, such as rubber gloves, safety
goggles, rubber safety boots and a respiratory mask should be worn during
handling.
When used as an ICE
MELTING COMPOUND sprinkle lightly and evenly over ice surface - about two
pounds per 200 sq. ft. (one pound coffee can holds approx. 2 lbs.). Thawing
begins immediately. As soon as ice is melted, slush and water should be
promptly removed to prevent refreezing. The cycle of refreezing and thawing
by natural weather elements can cause damage to concrete. The use of an ice
melting agent increases these cycles, and are factors over which we have no
control. All deicers may be harmful to concrete surfaces. Independent
testing shows that these pellets contribute less to concrete scaling than
other commonly used deicers. If this product is used on concrete of
questionable quality or in excessive amounts, there may be flaking and
scaling of the concrete surface. When grass and shrubbery are adjacent to
icy surfaces, particular care should be used to avoid excessive application
as it could cause browning. The use of this ice melting compound must be at
the consumer's risk. Store in a dry place and keep tightly closed when not
in use.

Calcium
Chloride Product Data Sheet
General
Description
TETRA 94™ is a white high purity pellet with 94%-97% CaCI2 by weight.
TETRA 94™, The Pellet
with Promise, is the Hottest Deicer Available. It has the following features
when compared to its nearest competitor:
- Faceted shape of
pellets makes them more controllable than round pellets that bounce and
roll.
- Higher
concentration (94-97%) gives a higher heat of dissolution for faster
melting and a higher rate of penetration.
When you need to
start melting ice and snow immediately, you immediately need TETRA 94™, The
Pellet with Promise.
Applications
TETRA 94™ is the premier deicer for sidewalks, parking lots and driveways.
This high energy deicer should be sprinkled lightly and evenly over ice
surfaces ... about 2 pounds per 200 square feet. (A one pound coffee can
holds approximately 2 pounds of TETRA 94™.) Thawing begins immediately. As
soon as ice is melted, slush and water should be promptly removed to prevent
refreezing. The cycle of refreezing and thawing by natural weather elements
can cause damage to concrete. The use of an ice melting agent increases
these cycles, and are factors over which we have no control. All deicers may
